Yamaha FG730S comes with a non-scalloped X-bracing pattern, which goes in harmony with the dovetail neck joint. The non-scalloped X-bracing pattern allows the guitar to be very durable; it will retain its tone, response, and stability for a lifetime. However, Yamaha FG830 boasts the newly developed scalloped bracing. Performance

The model sounds deeper due to the lows and mids having more presence. Not that Yamaha FG730S is a bad guitar – it’s a decent one, but Yamaha FG830 has the better tone.
