The Seagull s6 has a solid cedar top giving it a mellower, richer sound and a fullness to the chords than the Yamaha fg730s. This does not mean that the rich sound and mellowness is what people are looking for, honestly some just prefer the Yamaha’s crispy sound and brightness. The other thing has got to be the price difference between the two, the seagull s6 is made in Canada and the Yamaha is from china hence the clear difference in price where the Yamaha costs about 100 dollars cheaper.
When it comes to the outside view you have got to love the Yamaha with the dreadnought design, a rosewood back and the nato-wood neck, its way elegant compared to the seagull s6 which both the back and sides is mahogany. Decision
After doing all my research on Yamaha Fg730s vs Seagull s6, I will have to say that Yamaha takes it all the way, considering that it is very affordable and comes with die-cast tuners for easy tuning . It’s not that seagull is not up to Yamaha’s level in fact I rate it highly but with no doubt Yamaha is the blockbuster between the two.
