It still uses the older but still reliable sound engine, Advanced Wave Memory (AWM) Stereo Sampling. The maximum number of polyphonies is 64, and it comes with 10 preset voices consisting of two grands, two electrics, two organs, one strings, two harpsichords, and one vibraphone. Its 88 notes are built with GHS configuration already, so it can be a decent start before moving to a real acoustic piano. Yamaha P115B
You can say Yamaha P115B as an upgraded version of Yamaha P45B. It is powered by the newer Pure CF Sound Engine that provides much better and more natural tones. Coming with 88 GHS notes as well, Yamaha P115B has a maximum number of polyphonies of 192. There are 14 preset voices. The effects are more variegated for your liking here, including the Intelligent Acoustic Control feature and damper resonance functionality. Its amps are stronger, and it comes with more connection ports plus a pedal unit.

If you don’t mind to spare some more bucks, you should get Yamaha P115B instead of Yamaha P45B. It offers better performance, wider configurability, and more flexibility.
