Yamaha P Series P35B 88-Key Digital Piano Review: Cheap, Portable, GHS

If you are currently making the effort to upgrade your pianist status from beginner to intermediate, it is largely possible that you were looking to get yourself an acoustic piano. Once you have realized about how expensive and how space-consuming such thing is, you are now seeking for a more affordable 88-key digital piano. However, many 88-key digital pianos are also pricey. But Yamaha has answered the needs with Yamaha P35B.

Yamaha P Series P35B 88-Key Digital Piano Review - Cheap, Portable, GHS

Not like other intermediate keyboards, Yamaha P35B is already full-sized and decently configured with Graded Hammer System keyboard, without breaking the bank. The keys are properly weighed to provide a realistic touch similar to acoustic pianos; lower notes are heavier while higher notes are lighter. The user can adjust the touch sensitivity according to one of four settings: hard, medium, soft, or fixed. Moreover, it supports polyphony to 32 notes, making it viable for professional plays, though such number is indeed smaller than what higher-class pianos have. There are 10 voices available.

Yamaha P35B is quite portable with fair overall dimensions and relatively light weight (it is only 25 pounds!). So, it can be very versatile, as you can bring it anywhere pretty easily.

Yamaha P35B is powered by AWM Stereo Sampling sound engine, which is not so new, as now there is Pure CF Sound Engine that is implemented at newer and higher products, but nevertheless, it sounds very well. Unfortunately, it doesn’t sound loud due to only having two 6-Watt speakers. If you are going to a live performance, you will need some decent external speakers. There is also neither recorder nor USB port, which is bad if you want to record you plays. You can tweak it by using a USB-to-MIDI interface if you need to connect via USB.
