Nord Piano 2 HA88 Review: The Ultimate Digital Piano

Clavia is very well-known for making premium quality pianos. Simply taking good things to the higher step, Clavia has put forward their Nord Piano 2 HA88 as the universal solution for all kinds of professional needs. Like the previous model, Nord Piano 2 HA88 weighs around 40 pounds, but is added with a set of new handy features. Despite its arguably high price, a lot of people will still love it.

Nord Piano 2 HA88 Review - The Ultimate Digital Piano

One thing that really sets Nord Piano 2 apart from other digital pianos is that you can update it with Nord Piano Library. Instead of fixing specific sounds into the piano, they allow users to customize it completely. All preset sounds can be replaced with the ones from Nord Piano Library, a collection of audio samples of Grand, Upright, and Electrical Pianos, as well as Clavinet and Harpsichords. There is also Nord Sample Library, in which you can tweak each of the samples’ configurations including the attack, release, and octave shift. Though seemingly somewhat overwhelming for new users, Nord Piano 2 comes with an intuitive interface that makes adjusting the piano not as difficult as it seems. Still, we will need some time to learn.

Nord Piano 2 uses Hammer Action on its keyboard. There are some differences between Hammer Action and Graded Hammer Action, and Graded Hammer Action is more common than Hammer Action, but most users are already much delighted by Nord Piano 2’s realism. There are four touch settings available, so you can select the one that suits your style best.

Another uniqueness of Nord Piano 2 is that it comes the Nord Triple Pedal, which supports the half-pedaling technique as well as the release-and-catch method. In addition to the Dynamic Sustain Pedal, there are Soft and Sostenuto Pedals. Its pedal noise responds delicately to the force and momentum done by its player when pressing or releasing. Besides coming with a comprehensive set of features and functionalities, Nord Piano 2 also comes with extensive connectivity options, making it easily integrates with other kinds of devices.
