Jasmine S34C Review: Affordable NEX Level Acoustic Guitar

Are you looking for a decent acoustic guitar around the two hundred bucks price line? You should consider getting Jasmine S34C. Being labeled as a grand orchestra jumbo instrument, you can get original Takamine NEX’s size and shape from Jasmine S34C. For its very affordable price, its decent qualities easily make a huge value. The fact that it is made by the same people that previously designed the Takamine masterpieces ensures that Jasmine S34C is not a random low-budget low-performance stuff, at all.

Jasmine S34C Review - Affordable NEX Level Acoustic Guitar

Jasmine S34C comes with upgraded body from its younger sibling, Jasmine S35. It has spruce top with sapele back and sides. The body finish and the neck finish are made glossy. Somewhat surprisingly, its mahogany neck has a slim design, with rosewood fingerboard. The full length of its scale is 25.5-inch, and it has Pearloid dots inlays. Considering the nature of its budget, you may put your expectations low at first. However, you will be very delighted to know that Jasmine S34C provides decent durability and nice feel to the touch of our fingers. This is very much proven by the performance of its spruce top, which is widely known to be able to improve the more it is played. Even so, its headstock does not precisely impressing, though it has undergone an improvement by having chrome finish on its tuning pegs.

As we have said earlier, spruce top is a nice material for guitar tops, providing good resonance and audio effects, and tends to improve along with the age of the guitar, the more you play it. Thus, there is no need to wonder why the overall qualities of Jasmine S34C’s sounds are excellent. Thanks to its well-designed construction, it can provide satisfying loudness and audibility on any tone, it can stay in tune across its frequency range, and is very rich, bright, and clear. It has an exceptional performance that can be very difficult to be beaten by other acoustic guitars in the same price range.

Nevertheless, if you have only a few experiences with NEX or Jasmine guitars, you may find that Jasmine S34C is kind of hard to be played on. So, like many other Jasmine guitars, you will need to make some adjustments to the point of your comfort, including lowering its action a little and probably changing the strings, if you really need to.
