Output Quality
It can be quite hard and difficult to really tell the differences between Shure SM58’s and Sennheiser E835’s sonic characters, as both are sounding bright and clear. However, because they have different frequency response range, some distinctions are apparent nonetheless. Shure SM58 comes with a frequency response range of 50 Hz – 15 kHz, while Sennheiser E835 has a frequency response range of 40 Hz – 16 kHz. As you can see, Sennheiser E835 is actually able to reach both lower and higher frequencies. As the effect, Sennheiser E835 may be able to pronounce fuller and more solid bass, as well as more airy treble. Both microphones have a cardioid polar pattern, which means that they accept the best from the front side. Sennheiser E835 is more sensitive and is able to pronounce its sounds better than Shure SM58. Sennheiser E835 makes a great choice in a treated recording room. On the other hand, Shure SM58 is slightly less sensitive but is also less prone to feedback. Shure SM58 makes an excellent way for live performances, and thus is also more versatile.
