Even though both models appear identical to some degree, they are actually designed a little bit differently. In short, Fender Frontman 212R can give you a more straightforward and practical use, but with slightly fewer features. It is more of a plug-and-play amp that requires minimal settings and adjustments. On the other hand, Fender Champion 100 may require quite some more settings and adjustments, but there are indeed more features and functions that you can take advantage of in order to craft the finest tones possible.
Fender Champion 100 comes with an aux input that allows you to plug in and play music directly from external audio devices, along with a 1/8” headphone output jack for direct monitoring that mutes the speaker output when activated. There are two different channels, selectable with a simple kick of the footswitch, and there are various amp models with each own set of special effects such as digital reverb, delay, chorus, and vibratone.
Meanwhile, Fender Frontman 212R features three selectable channels: Normal, Drive, and More Drive. There are dedicated volume and tone controls in each channel. Fender Frontman 212R also features effect loop and a footswitch jack, with a two-button footswitch included.
These amps are both 100-Watt. Each is armed with two 12” Special Design speakers. However, they have different tonal characteristics. Fender Champion 100 is able to project sounds very well, with decent solidity and accuracy. All the amp models are great, but the clean channel is especially superb. Fender Champion 100 is very versatile for various genres. Fender Frontman 212R is also good, also with clean tone performance that is loud and clear. There is a mid contour switch that allows you to dial in the desired distortion effect for metal, rock, punk, or blues.

In general, Fender Champion 100 is the best for most people, as it can provide you the fullest control to craft and adjust your sounds. However, if you prefer something simple and practical to use, and if you tend to use effect pedals more than on-board effects, then Fender Frontman 212R is a good way to go.
