Are you looking for a compact and portable mini keyboard? Most probably, you are just about to introduce your child to the world of music playing. The standard-sized keyboard may be too large and overwhelming for your young child, so you want them to start with something smaller. Or, perhaps you are looking for a mini keyboard that is simply easy to be brought along and don’t break the bank. Casio SA-76 and Casio SA-77 may have captured your eyes. They are available at almost similar prices, and now you are wondering about which to get. Despite the similarities, there are some distinctions that you should be aware of.
Design
The very first difference that can be immediately noticed is certainly the color design. They have different bodies. On Casio SA-76, the base is colored in orange, whereas the base of Casio SA-77 is gray. Other than that, everything is more-or-less identical. They have identical layouts and button placements. They each has a monochrome LCD screen, a pair of speakers, and a 3.5mm mini stereo headphone output jack, which can be handy if you want to train by wearing headphones without being noisy. They each also features a large orange button for quick change between two different tones, piano and organ. They measure and weigh the same.
Speaker Power
However, it is easy to miss that Casio SA-76 actually comes with a pair of 1.2W speakers while Casio SA-77 has a pair of 0.8W speakers. Such difference may not be very crucial, but still worth a note. Casio SA-76’s speakers are slightly stronger and louder than Casio SA-77’s speakers.
Sound Quality
However, you should also take note that while they both have piano and organ tones, Casio SA-76’s organ tone doesn’t sound as astonishing. It is somewhat cheap and toy-like. On the other hand, Casio SA-77’s organ tone is certainly better and more realistic.
Other Features
Well, the other specifications and features of these mini keyboards are similar. They each has 44 mini keys, 100 tones, 50 built-in rhythms, and 10 built-in songs with melody on/off function. There are also 5 drum pads available.
