Now, if you are looking for a good acoustic electric model to introduce you to the world of Taylor guitars, either Taylor 110ce or Taylor 114ce can be an excellent starting point. Both of those two models are available around very similar prices, and both are equally popular and favored by many users. So, in what ways do Taylor 110ce and Taylor 114ce differ? Identical Construction and Features
One thing that you should acknowledge regarding these two acoustic electric guitars is that they come with the same construction and features. Both of them feature solid Sitka spruce tops with Sapele laminate backs and sides. As the effect, they have relatively similar tonal colors, though there are some slight distinctions due to the different designs. Both Taylor 110ce and Taylor 114ce are also very rugged and resilient, able to withstand heavy-duty usage and fluctuating climate conditions. They have a similar forward- shifted scalloped X-bracing pattern. Meanwhile, the 1-11/16” neck is made of Sapele, and the fingerboard features genuine African ebony wood material. The only yet crucial difference between Taylor 110ce and Taylor 11ce is their body styles. Taylor 110ce has a Dreadnought body, whereas Taylor 114ce has a Grand Auditorium body. As the effect, Taylor 110ce is a thud bulkier, able to boom and project notes fully. It is a great strummer guitar. However, the bulkiness may make it kind of tiring to play for longer periods, and also not as adept for fingerstyle and single notes. On the other hand, Taylor 114ce is a little bit smaller and slimmer. It is more comfortable to play for longer periods and for any physicality. It can be considered as a jack of all trades since it can perform fine for individual notes as well as still being a good strummer.

Both Taylor 110ce and Taylor 114ce are excellent guitars. Only the different body styles that may make one more suitable and comfortable for your playing. Taylor 110ce’s Dreadnought body is a good choice as a strummer guitar. It booms and projects notes very well. However, for a flexible and versatile jack-of-all-trades guitar, you should go with Taylor 114ce which has a Grand Auditorium body.
