Ibanez AS73
Ibanez AS73 Artcore is a highly versatile electric guitar suitable for a variety of genres. Since the first release in 2002, Ibanez AS73 Artcore has become the choice of legions of guitarists. It sounds great, and the construction is exceptional. The model is available in three different finishes: Antique Amber, Tobacco Brown, and Transparent Cherry; all with the gloss finish that not only enhances the premium looks, but also adds a degree of protection against scratches. It features Maple top, back, and sides, with Mahogany set-in neck and bound Rosewood fretboard. It has medium-sized frets with white dot inlays. Despite the affordable nature, Ibanez AS73 Artcore has been built for quality. The construction feels solid and durable. The Classic Elite (H) pickup system is excellent. The ceramic material used for the pickup system is not a problem at all, because the guitar sounds great nonetheless. In addition, Ibanez AS73 Artcore is widely loved for its superior tuning stability. The tone, the sustain, and the way it holds its tuning are astonishing.

Epiphone Dot
Epiphone Dot is available in a total of four color variants: Natural, Ebony, Vintage Sunburst, and Cherry Red. Even though it is available in more color variants, we must say that the overall appearance is as elegant as the Artcore. This is most probably due to the fact that it doesn’t look and feel solid. The construction is not as rugged and sturdy. Epiphone Dot features a laminate Maple body with a Mahogany SlimTaper “D” neck and Rosewood fingerboard. Truth to be told, the sound is a little bit better than Ibanez AS73. The tone is slightly fuller and more accurate. However, not many people like the electronics. Epiphone Dot is armed with the Alnico Classic Humbucker pickups, which is functional but not uber-impressive.

Decision
Epiphone Dot is a very good guitar due to the sound quality. However, the built is not impressive. Because of that, we recommend you to choose Ibanez AS73, which boasts excellent sound, construction, and stability.
