If you are currently looking for an affordable electric guitar that not only sounds great but also looks cool, then you can put Schecter guitars into your consideration. Schecter guitars are well-known for the cool and stylish designs. They go well with their names; these guitars find their home in rock and metal genres. However, feel free to play them in any way you want. Now, there are two Schecter models that often make people confused, Schecter Omen 6 and Schecter Demon 6. Design
Quite interestingly, both Schecter Omen 6 and Schecter Demon 6 are made in Indonesia. These Indonesian-made electric guitars both use basswood as the body material, maple for the neck, and rosewood for the fretboard. Both have a bolt-on construction with a Thin ‘C’ neck shape. In terms of design, Schecter Omen 6 and Schecter Demon 6 share some similarity to each other. They come with the same body size and type. They both have a full-size 25.5” scale length, with 24 X-Jumbo frets and 14” fretboard radius. Both models have been designed for right-handed players, but you don’t need to worry because there are also Omen 6 and Demon 6 variants designed for left-handed players.
Features
The primary difference between Omen and Demon is the pickup systems. Schecter Omen 6 is equipped with the stock passive Schecter Diamond Plus pickup system, featuring a volume/tone/3-way switch for control. The model is further armed with black chrome hardware that looks cool and is very rugged and durable. Meanwhile, Schecter Demon 6 is the version with an active pickup system. Schecter Demon 6 boasts the Duncan Designed pickup system with metal knurled knobs, powered by a 9-Volt clip-in battery compartment, and also with black chrome hardware. Most people usually prefer active pickups, but there are also some that greatly prefer passive pickups instead due to some reasons.
Performance
Due to the different pickup systems, these electric guitars may sound a little bit differently. Even so, both sound well. The audio quality is decent. You just need to choose the one that suits you better. Schecter Omen 6, with a passive pickup, sounds slightly warmer. The dynamic range is very nice. On the other hand, Schecter Demon 6 sounds brighter, crisper, and cleaner due to the active pickup. The output gain is also far higher.

Decision
In general, Schecter Demon 6 makes the best way to go. The Duncan Designed active pickup is the primary reason. It is of decent quality, and it sounds great. However, if you dislike active pickups, you can choose Schecter Omen 6 instead.
