At first, Peavey Bandit 112 may not seem like a reliable amp due to being a transtube amp – especially if you’ve been used to those pricey, expensive valve guitar amps. However, as a matter of fact, Peavey Bandit 112 doesn’t sound that bad at all. It sounds great, and it is quite a versatile amp. Also, thanks to being a transtube amp, Peavey Bandit 112 is very lightweight despite the output power rating. Peavey Bandit 112 only weighs about 40 lbs. It is very lightweight and quite compact, making it very portable and easy to bring along. Also integrated with the amplifier is a 12” Blue Marvel speaker. On the top side, there is a handlebar that enables you to easily lift the device. Meanwhile, the control panel is located on the top of the front side, just above the Peavey logo.
On the control panel, you can find two dedicated inputs for High Gain and Low Gain. You can switch between the two available channels. Peavey Bandit 112 has a Clean channel and a Lead channel. On each channel, there is a tri-band passive EQ for adjusting the tonal color. Meanwhile, the Master section features the Reverb and Boost control knobs. By the way, you can switch between the Clean and Lead channels as well as activate/deactivate the Boost by using footswitches. This way, you can make on-the-fly adjustments easily and quickly.
