Moog Sub 37 vs Little Phatty

Moog Sub 37
The Moog Sub 37 is a pure joy to play with more possibilities and the combination of two Mod Sections which can mod every possible parameter at different LFO speed. The ADSR settings can be synced to speed and loop, which is an incredible tool for making “delayed” sounds without a delay. The overall sound quality is just killer. With the latest firmware, the step sequencer is very powerful and fast to program. Just switch to record, play a sequence, press SEQ and you have it. You will like the way Sub-37 as you wished on Moog Sub 37 vs Model D too, the compliments the Voyager which has the step sequencer, 4 filter slopes, the filter overdrive all make it contrast the bigger creamier majestic sound of the Voyager. There are some 303 and Model D qualities available with the filter overdrive and step sequencer slides. The keyboard is different, not only in the amount of keys, the keys use a softer spring to the Sub Phatty and the keys are not a heavily weighted making it easier to play fast. It’s not quite as soft as the Nord Lead 4 keybed which is my favourite keybed to play on due to the softness of the key tension and lightness of the keys.

Moog Little Phatty
The Little Phatty is a bit deceptive from the box. It is a relatively small and lightweight unit, almost looks like a toy. But build great quality and have the keys feel good to them. I/O unit is simple, has one audio inside, one audio out, MIDI In or even Out, USB and three CV controls. For those who still have a desire for true analog sound, this takes the cake with its 100% analog circuit. In my opinion, no plug-ins can match the sound from this unit. This is the real deal! Presets coming out of the box, for the most part, are useful and a good starting point. Being a beginner to lead the analog synth of the world, you can find the logical layout, following the circuit from start to finish in synth. Pushbuttons great switch is easy to read and what they do is clear. There are not many learning curves with this as long as you have a basic understanding of how analogue synth works, and what each part of the circuit solves. Fine tuning knob is useful for voice tweaking. Overall, we highly recommend this unit for a studio or keyboardist looking to add the old-school Moog sound to their rig.

Conclusion
If we compare between Moog Sub 37 vs Little Phatty, it is actually not suitable enough, because Sub 37 more has same synthesis as Sub Phatty. No poly chaining. 256 presets. Noise. Sequencer. Plenty of knobs. Duophony. LP/SP are the same with just one hasn’t a keyboard. They can be poly-chained. 100 presets, no noise. No sequencer. Lack of knobs. However, considering we must choose one, then you might choose Moog Sub 37 with the very nice with plenty of knobs/buttons for shaping a sound from the front panel.
