Casio CTK 3500 Vs 2400

Due to belonging to the same series of portable keyboards, Casio CTK 3500 and Casio CTK 2400 share a lot of similarities. They both are 61-key portable keyboards with built-in learning functions and lots of built-in tones, rhythms, and songs. These are great choices for beginners. However, there are also several differences that set Casio CTK 3500 vs 2400 apart. Casio CTK 3500 is a higher model with more advanced features, whereas Casio CTK 2400 is more affordable. See the detailed comparisons below!

Casio CTK 3500 Vs 2400

Design
Casio CTK 3500 and Casio CTK 2400 have exactly the same dimensions. They each measure 946 mm wide, 307 mm deep, and 92 mm thick. They each also weigh about 3.4 kg without batteries. Both are compact, portable, and space-friendly.

The layouts are mostly similar. They each feature an LCD screen where you can see the notes being played, learning lessons, and settings. However, Casio CTK 3500 does look more attractive and elegant because of the font colors. This keyboard uses yellow and white colors which make the text easier to read. On the other hand, Casio CTK 2400’s text color is all white; it looks plain and somewhat less intuitive to read.

Keyboard Performance
Both Casio CTK 3500 vs Casio CTK 2400 are equipped with piano-style keys, which are great if you want to learn playing a real piano in the future. However, Casio CTK 3500 is much more recommended if this is the case, because it comes with touch-sensitive keys.

The keys have two sensitivity levels that you can choose to suit your taste. The touch-sensitive keys will play the notes according to how hard or soft you strike them. It is not completely like real piano keys, which are weighted, but it is still better than not having it at all. Casio CTK 2400 only has regular keyboard keys. Both models have 48-note polyphony. In most cases, they are already able to play some of the more difficult pieces. Polyphony is the ability of a digital keyboard to produce more than one note at the same time; this is crucial when playing a lot of notes at a quick tempo and a sustain pedal to hold the notes.

Features
Casio CTK 3500 is packed with more features. Although it only has 60 songs (apparently the number of built-in songs is reduced to make some room for the other features), it comes with 400 tones, 10 types of reverb plus virtual hall reverb and dance music effect, 100 rhythms, 50 dance music rhythms, and the ability to connect to your smartphone via the Chordana Play mobile app.

On the other hand, Casio CTK 2400 features more built-in songs with 110 songs, but it does not have the dance music mode. It also does not have the virtual hall reverb.

Each of the two keyboards is armed with two 2W speakers. Both support computer connectivity via USB/MIDI. They can operate using either a power adapter or six AA batteries.
